Announcement:

Supply of photovoltaic electricity and/or geothermal heating and cooling. (14020100, 14020900)

CERN intends to place a contract for the supply of photovoltaic electricity and/or geothermal heating and cooling for the Science Gateway, to be carbon neutral through the use of renewable energy (electricity, heating, cooling). The electricity will be produced with a photovoltaic farm of 480 kWp capacity installed on the Science Gateway roofs. The heating and cooling will be produced with a geothermal installation including 40 boreholes at 250m deep and 2 reversible heat pumps installed on the Science Gateway site. CERN is looking to externalise the production of this renewable energy and to buy it at contractual rates over a 30 year period from an external supplier. This supplier will be responsible for the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of these installations over a 30 year period.

Interested firms shall have a proven competence and experience with design/built/finance/operate/maintain contract in the field of renewable energy. Experience with geothermal and photovoltaic installation. Local presence for operation and maintenance of the installations. Knowledge of applicable Swiss rules and regulation w.r.t renewable energy installation.
