Announcement:

Supply and installation of cryogenic helium distribution lines for the high luminosity project (06020204, 06020205)

CERN intends to place a contract for the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of two cryogenic multi-header helium distribution lines (QXL), i.e. total length ca 1.5 km (2 x 750m), with five inner headers ranging from ISO DN40 to DN300, an outer vessel size ranging from 650 mm to 770 mm, with a total of 32 feeding points and approximately 200 cryogenic control valves are required. The QXL shall be installed at point 1 located in Switzerland and at point 5 located in France. Instrumentation, cryogenic valves, safety valves and control system will be specified and supplied by CERN.

Interested firms shall have a proven experience and competence with similar multiple headers liquid helium projects, including the design of actively cooled thermal shield lines, with mechanical and thermal analysis, and have designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned to performance the cryogenic equipment required.
