Announcement:

Framework Market Survey concerning the supply of Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) for the Phase II upgrade of the CMS Barrel Timing Layer (BTL) and High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL) detectors

CERN intends to place contracts for the design, prototyping, manufacturing and packaging of radiation-tolerant SiPMs for the Phase II upgrade of the CMS BTL and HGCAL detectors. For HGCAL, the amount of SiPMs needed is 242,000, consisting of 1.4mm x 1.4mm units (about 110,000 pieces) and 2mm x 2mm units (about 130,000 pieces), to be delivered in batches until April 2023. For BTL, the amount of SiPMs needed is 352,000 with 3x3mm (approximately) active area packaged in 22,000 sixteen-channel arrays, to be delivered in batches until end of 2022.

Interested firms shall have a proven relevant experience in the manufacturing and packaging of radiation-tolerant SiPMs.
