Market survey: I quarter 2021
Announcement:
Framework Market Survey concerning the supply of Energy Extraction Systems for superconducting magnet circuits based on vacuum switches for the High Luminosity Project
CERN intends to place two contracts for Energy Extraction Systems of two types (2 kA and 600 A) for the quench protection of superconducting magnets for the High Luminosity Project. The first contract for nine systems (five for 2 kA and four for 600 A) is expected to be placed in June 2021. The second contract for approx. 50 units (approx. 27 for 2 kA and 23 for 600 A) is expected to be placed in Q1 2023. Each system for 2 kA is housed in standard EURO rack with dimensions 600x1000x2000. For the 600 A, two systems are sharing the rack. The supply shall include the design, manufacture acceptance tests. CERN reserves the right to implement technical modifications in terms of hardware control electronics, where necessary after the first contract.
Interested firms shall have proven experience in design, manufacturing, integration and installation of electrical energy discharge systems and vacuum switches as well as competencies in the design of automation and control hardware.
