2019 is the time when we work intensively to show Polish companies and institutions from the high-tech sector, how they can benefit from closer cooperation with the Big Science market. After the success of Poland @ CERN 2019, we are organizing another mission, this time dedicated to ITER. It will take place on October 17th and 18th, 2019 at the headquarters of the organization in St. Paul-lez-Durance in southern France. The mission’s organizers are Wrocław Technology Park and European Commission.

Why ITER?

ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) is an international venture implemented by EU member states, the US, China, South Korea, Switzerland, Russia, Japan and India. It is described as the most ambitious scientific initiative in the world. The EU contribution to the ITER project is managed by F4E, i.e. Fusion for Energy – an organization of the European Union (EU). Its budget for 2021-2027 is 6 billion euros. Most of these funds will be allocated to activities related to ITER, a project that due to its scale generates a large demand for various products and services. It should be emphasized that the success of this venture depends on efficient and successful cooperation with industry and R&D organizations. It mainly focuses on building, producing and testing technical components for fusion reactors. Tender procedures announced for the needs of ITER are available to Polish companies and institutions that have the potential to carry out even the most complex tasks for this project. Poland @ ITER 2019 aims to show them the opportunities offered by such cooperation.

Poland@ITER 2019

The Poland@ITER 2019 mission will last two days – October 17th and 18th, 2019. ITER and European Commission representatives will present perspectives of cooperation with Polish companies and institutions and will familiarize them with the organization’s tender procedures. The key part of the mission will be individual meetings of mission participants with F4E tender specialists and engineers from various technical departments of the project. On the second day of the event, they will have a unique opportunity to visit the ITER construction site. The mission will end with a discussion session on the calls and prospects of the Polish high-tech sector in the context of cooperation with ITER.
